of the summer break. There was concurrence to cancel
the July 28 and August 4 and 11 meetings.
- Proposal to cancel the February 18 meeting and
move the item scheduled for that night to the meeting of
February 24, starting that meeting at 6:00 p.m. without a
dinner meeting. There was consensus to make this change.
- Mayor Jepsen called for volunteers to serve on the
subcommittee to review applications for the Parks,
Recreation and Cultural Services Advisory Committee.
Councilmembers Chang, Gustafson and Ransom volunteered.
This subcommittee will make recommendations about
appointments to the full Council.
- Julie Modrzejewski, Assistant City Manager, asked
Councilmembers to think about options for the type of
event planned for volunteer recognition. The use
of the Highland Recreation Center as the venue was
discussed, or some other City site. There was discussion
of holding the event in the afternoon or early evening,
possibly as a dessert event. Council discussed various
ideas and asked staff to check with some of our
volunteers through Police Chief Denise Pentony and the
Council of Neighborhoods.
