SUMMARY MINUTES OF DINNER MEETING

PRESENT:       Mayor Hansen, Deputy Mayor Jepsen, Councilmembers Chang, Fimia, Grace, Gustafson, and Ransom

 

ABSENT:        none

 

STAFF:            Steve Burkett, City Manager; Robert Olander, Deputy City Manager; Julie Modrzejewski, Assistant City Manager; and Joyce Nichols, Communications and Intergovernmental Relations Director

 

 

Mayor Hansen convened the meeting at 6:25 p.m. 

 

Steve Burkett, City Manager, said the topic of tonight’s meeting is an update on legislative issues by Communications and Intergovernmental Relations Director Joyce Nichols.

 

Ms. Nichols reminded the Council that the cutoff for bills to be passed out of committee in the house of origin was last Friday, February 5.  The cutoff for all bills in the house of origin is Tuesday, February 17.

 

Continuing, Ms. Nichols provided a summary of activity and status update on the following bills:

 

·        Streamlined Sales Tax—HB 2500/SB 6544;

·        Tax Increment Financing—SB 1281/E355B 5364;

·        County Assistance Account—HB 3175/SB 6689;

·        Property Tax Relief—HB 3076;

·        Purchasing Authority—HB 2615;

·        Electronic Notice of Special Meetings—HB 2632/SB 6352;

·        Officer-involved Domestic Violence—SB 6161/HB 2392;

·        Other Domestic Violence bills—HB 2397 and HB 1949;

·        Gambling/Local Land Use Authority—HB 1667;

·        Water/Sewer District Assumptions—HB 2384;

·        Public Works billls—HB 2522/SB 6669 and HB 2523/SB 6667;

·        Transportation Governance—ESHB 1960;

·        RTID “LIBE”—PSHB 2531; and

·        Other transportation bills—SB 6436, SB 6612.

 

Mayor Hansen declared the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
