It includes a five cent gas tax increase. A special session will begin May 12 to continue work on the operating and capital budgets, which were not completed by the April 27 end of the Regular Session.

Steve Burkett, City Manager, called attention to a memo regarding filing Public Disclosure information during City Council campaigns. He reminded Councilmembers that candidates will send their financial forms to the PDC as usual. This year the City will provide a link to the PDC website as a convenience for Shoreline residents.

Mr. Burkett provided an update on the Tent City which has been located at the Shoreline Free Methodist Church on 175th Street and 5th Avenue NE. It has been operating at this location since April 19. He said the site is large with minimal impacts to date. Councilmembers said they have not received negative comments and some mentioned that they had received positive comments.

At 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Hansen arrived.

Mr. Burkett mentioned the Volunteer Breakfast on Friday, May 2 at 7:30 a.m. at the Shoreline Conference Center. He said more than a hundred people have indicated they will attend. The theme of the breakfast is baseball--the volunteers are Shoreline’s "All Stars."
